Hello, its me :’)

Firstly, I just want to apologise for the lack of well, anything, on this blog… I hate being that person to say ‘I’ve been busy’ but really, its just that. Without going into loads of detail & boring you all to tears, this last few months have been a whirlwind. A whirlwind of the good, the bad, & the ugly. Fortunately mostly the good! If there is ever a time when a Youtuber gets their ‘big break’ this summer was definitely mine. Quite honestly I hate talking about my own achievements & I would very rarely go as far as saying ‘I’m proud of myself’ but I guess I am a tiny little bit on this occasion… I really put my all into my channel & it certainly payed off. My youtube family has grown more than 4 times the size in the space of 3 months which is absolutely insane to me & my head can’t quite process that there are now 133,000 of you lovely humans who took the time out of your day to click the subscribe button, but I am forever grateful. Even with the success of my channel I’m still going through that whole figuring myself out stage & I’m not completely happy with my content *ew i hate that word for some reason hahaha*, but the most important thing is that I am genuinely loving every second. Getting to make videos as my full time job is literally above & beyond my wildest dreams & I still have to pinch myself every day. Its been a real life changing few months for me, I did actually do a little interview recently where I went into a bit more detail so I will link that *here* for anyone interested. And then in the whirlwind of bad & ugly… some not so good life stuff happened & is still happening I guess… & maybe I’ll talk about that in a future blog post, but for today lets just concentrate on the good huh 🙂

Heres a pic of me looking like I’ve got my sh*t together in contrast to how I look right now… (odd socks, mismatched pjs… ya get the jist)

Anyways you’re probably wondering, what brings me back around these parts? Well recently I’ve been doing a lot of thinking (in general haha), but particularly about the things I enjoy doing, the things that really make me happy. Writing is one of them. I have always loved writing since being a child. I was that kid who stayed in through their break & lunch to finish the story they’d started in their English lesson & if I hadn’t stepped foot in a ballet class I think that would have been the career route i’d have gone down. As much as I adore Youtube & I feel like a lot of the time creatively I do just want to sit down & talk, sometimes I can’t get the words out that I want to say or I feel some things are better written than spoken word, & I figured why can I not do both? So yes, you can expect lots more content *shudders lol* on here in the near future, WOO! In terms of what I’ll be blogging about, I guess it will just be a real mish mash of my thoughts, beauty, fashion… ya know. But yeah, I’m back & hopefully here to stay.

Nice to see you again 🙂

In todays post i’m telling you guys all about a new and exciting launch from one of my favourite local companies. The Yorkshire Soap Company are an independent business with shops in Leeds, York, Hebden Bridge, and one soon to open in Beverley. I first stumbled across one of their shops when i was shopping in Leeds for the day last summer, i was instantly attracted to the shop window as it was an absolutely beautiful display of what looked like cakes and other baked goods. It was only when i ventured inside that i realised the contents of this shop was not edible, it was in fact full of gorgeous handmade soaps and bath bombs as well as luxurious beauty products. The smell inside the shop was heavenly and the products were so unique and adorable that it was no surprise i didn’t leave empty handed – and from then on i was hooked!

Since first discovering the little gem of a company i have always kept myself up to date with their latest products and launches, and i am so excited to tell you about their newest launch today.  They have released a beautiful range of 3 different hampers as an online only promotion. There are 3 types of the luxury hamper; bath pamper, classic collection and home scents. Whats more is you are then able to select what choice of fragrance you would like your contents to be; floral, fruity or woody. There really is something for everyone! All products inside the hamper come gift wrapped in a range of luxury boxes, better still they are never tested on animals and suitable for vegetarians. I was lucky enough to get my hands on two of the hampers, and i was absolutely blown away by the amazing quality. As usual the presentation and over all packaging of the hamper is absolutely perfect, it would make a very special gift, or even just a lovely treat to yourself! I was particularly impressed by the quality of the actual hamper itself, i will definitely be re using i think its such a great way of storing your bath products!

Of course depending on which hamper you select depends on the contents of it. My classic collection included things such as a soap cake slice and 6 bath truffles; the cutest products you will EVER see! My Bath Pamper hamper included products such as a beautiful travel candle and some bath foam; basically all of the perfect ingredients to turn your bathroom into an ‘at home’ spa night. The pricing ranges between £25 to £50 so for what you actually get inside they are very reasonably priced as i would class them as a real luxury item quality wise. Delivery is £4.95 which is amazing for the weight of the product, or free for any order over £30! All of the products inside the hamper are also available as individual products both online and in store, so if there is something you particularly like within the hamper don’t worry you are able to re purchase! Also another feature which has now been added to the range of hampers is you are now able to select your own products! So if you do want to make it super personal and pick things that you know you love you are now able to do so. I think this is a great touch as for example i know there are some products which my mum particularly loves from the store, so its great that i can now ensure these will be included in the hamper when i’m to order one for her!

I think what i love most about The Yorkshire Soap Company is how unique the products are. They really are very special and not something you see everyday. If anyone were to receive the products as a gift i know they would be absolutely delighted. Although they do look amazing in photos, photos honestly don’t do the products justice they are even more beautiful in real life. Of course being a Yorkshire girl myself i am also very happy to be supporting a local company. I have a discount code JUSTJODES for use online that will give you 10% off all products, so what better time to give them a try, i promise you will not be disappointed! Be sure to follow The Yorkshire Soap Company on instagram too to stay updated with all their latest news!

When in London one of my all time favourite places to go for Brunch (or for any meal time of the day to be honest!) is The Breakfast Club. If you’re looking for the ultimate chill place to hang out whilst chowing down on the tastiest food you could ever imagine then look no further. I was recently in London for a few days with a group of my blogger pals and when deciding where to go for our instagram worthy brunch it was no surprise we opted for The Breakfast Club. We visited the Angel branch which is a super cute little cafe tucked away in Camden Passage. However no matter where you are in London you can now guarantee you won’t be too far away from one of these little gems as there are now 9 cafes open, one located in Brighton  – see the website for more details on locations.

b7As for whats on the menu, well its more a case of what isn’t. A very popular option are the American Style pancakes, served with berries and cream these guys go down an absolute treat! Of course there is also a traditional full english brekky on offer, and all the other usual trendy brekkys – avocado on toast, breakfast burrito – you name it its probably gunna be on there. Most of the breakfast menu is served throughout the whole day, and for lunch and dinner you also get some extra options such as a pulled pork burger of dreams! On this occasion i went for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast – AMAZING! The girls both went for pancake options, i have to say i was a little bit jealous when they’re orders arrived to the table! They also went for milkshakes which speaking from past experience i know taste divine. I was in need of my morning coffee fix so i stuck with my usual caramel soy latte, which as aways didn’t disappoint.

b5b3 The general vibe of the cafes is old school 80’s with its cluttered decor and brick walls. Its a real London brunch game changer. The only downside is the wait time, be prepared to queue especially when visiting on a Sunday when everyone is in desperate need of a hang over cure haha! Its absolutely worth the wait though, and mre often than not whilst you wait staff will bring out smoothie samples etc which is a nice touch.

b11b1b9If you are yet to visit a Breakfast Club branch i strongly urge you to do so, i guarantee you will NOT be disappointed! Happy Brunching 🙂

Spring has well and truly sprung and i thought i would do a little round up on my blog of some of my current favourites! I have a nice mix of beauty, fashion & lifestyle bits – hope you enjoy!

First up for beauty – i have been obsessing over some of the new Too Faced releases. In general Too Faced is one of my all time favourite makeup brands, not only are the products really high quality the packaging is AMAZING! I have particularly been loving the new Sweethearts Blush in ‘Sparkling Bellini’ and the Sweetheart bronzer in ‘Sweet Tea’. Not only is the heart shaped packaging to die for the colours of both products are SO beautiful. The bronzer is such a gorgeous golden glow and the blush has just the right about of shimmer. IN LOVE.tf

Next up in beauty i have the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I just want to start by saying… WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! This mascara has been so hyped about for the last few months yet i only just tried it out last week! Obviously as i’m including it in this favourites it was an instant love. Definitely my new favourite mascara and from the drugstore too! Winning! Ive been looking for a mascara for some time now that gives me quite a dramatic look without my lashes looking too clumpy, and this does just that! I don’t tend to wear heavy eye makeup so a good mascara to make me look a bit more awake is an absolute must for me. I have definitely found my new go too!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of new straighteners from the GHD Azores collection, the collection screams holiday vibes and it was love at first sight! I got mine in the pearlescent green colour and they are absolutely dreamy. Of course as you would expect from GHD the straighteners themselves are second to none. They glide through my mane of hair so easily which makes doing my hair in a morning a pleasure not a chore for once! These beauties are also available in blue and pink. I do believe they’re limited edition so get them while you can!

ghdMoving on to Fashion faves. This time of year its all about the trainers for me. I love a good pair of heels don’t get me wrong, but nothing beats the comfy feeling of your favourite converse – and these all White Leather Hi top All Stars are my new absolute faves! I got them from  which is an awesome website for all of your shoe buying needs! They stock so many of my favourite brands, i was so impressed when i had a browse. Though i was spoilt for choice i ended up going for these converse and i am so happy with them. Being all leather they are so much easier to keep clean (especially with them being pure white!), and they are also water proof which is fab because here in the UK the chances of rain are always on the high side haha! I feel like i can pair these with literally any outfit for a cute, casual look. Definitely a staple in my wardrobe this Spring.converse

As for random favourites – i am completely obsessed with smoothies at the moment! As the weather gets warmer it definitely inspires me to eat a little healthier and i just find smoothies such a yummy treat whilst still being good for you! I find myself browsing on Pinterest for hours searching new recipes – ultimate form of procrastination! I actually found an amazing recipe for a banana smoothie on Pinterest which tastes like a chocolate milkshake but is packed with protein and super good for you! I made a few tweaks to the recipe and i feel like i now have it perfect so stay tuned on the blog in the next week as i will definitely be sharing that with you all 😉

I hope you enjoyed my ramblings about all the things i’m currently loving! Let me know if you’d like me to do this kind of thing again! I might even make this a weekly thing, i love making videos on my channel but one thing that does i wish is that i could share more with you as i don’t get to tell you guys about all the things I’m loving every single week, sometimes my weeks videos just don’t allow for it. So maybe if i start doing a weekly love list on here i will be able to share lots more of the things i’m loving with you! What do you think? It feels absolutely awesome to be back blogging.

Let me know in the comments what you’re loving this Spring?

It’s reached that time again. The time when we set ourselves our resolutions for the year that lies ahead. I thought rather than do a traditional ‘New Years Resolutions’ post i would do something that involves you a bit more. So here are 10 quotes which i will definitely be trying to live by this year on my quest to become a healthier, happier, more productive version of myself. I’ve put my own personal spin on some of them to help you get to know me a bit more. Hopefully they help some of you guys too 🙂

1.  If it makes you happy, do it. If it doesn’t, don’t. Its that simple. I’m joking – if only it was haha! But seriously, it really is something that i think we all could benefit from keeping in mind. At the end of the day, happiness is the most important thing in life and if your not, you need to try to eliminate the things which are making a negative impact.

2. Its never too late to be what you might of been. I’m sure a lot of us can relate to the feeling of ‘this is it’, this is the way our life has panned out so this is what we must settle for. Wrong. You have the power to change the direction of your life at any given moment. Whether that be a lifestyle change, or taking up a new college course, or quitting your job to start a fresh, anything. For me my biggest aim this year is to get back into performing arts, my passion in life. After a rocky year of injury and health set backs i lost my way with it all. But its who i am, and i’m determined to throw myself back into it, no matter how hard it may be, i will get my confidence back, and i will be on stage again. Watch this space 😉

3. Be happy with what you’ve got, while working for what you want. Its so easy to get caught up in what your longing for, may that be a job promotion, or to lose that last 10 pounds, we all have goals which can consume our minds. I’m so guilty of having the constant thought in my head of ‘i will be so much happier when…’ but you have to remember that all we really have is the present moment in time, and we must enjoy it. Of course its completely ok to have goals and ambitions, but don’t forget to ‘just be’ and enjoy the moment, or the most special moments of our lives will pass us by.

4. Nothing will make you feel better apart from doing the work. This can relate to so many different situations, but basically what I’m saying is if you want something you have to work for it. The only person who can make the change is you. So whether that be you want to pass your driving test, get fit, ace your next assignment, the only way thats gunna happen is if you get up and put the work in. Its tough love, but it’s the way it is. For me this year i really want to throw myself into my career and make my youtube & blog content the best it possibly can be, with consistent uploads. That and getting back into performing. Not forgetting taking over the world haha 😉 Success is not luck, its hard work.

5. Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right. I’m the first to admit how guilty i am of this. A change of mindset is definitely something that i could benefit a hell of a lot from. Its so easy to slip into the habit of constantly thinking of the negatives, but where does it get you really? Positive thinking is free, and it basically makes absolutely everything instantly easier, better and more fun! Who doesn’t want that?

6. Don’t compare your chapter 1, to someone else chapter 20. One of my favourites. Comparison is the thief of joy. So why do we do it? Its hard now with our minds being constantly bombarded by social media with what everyone else is doing, but sometimes you have to take a step back and say to yourself actually no, I’m doing pretty great myself and thats what most important. Everyone is on there own personal journey, we all learn, grow and begin at different times. As long as your moving forward, thats all that matters.

7. Worrying doesn’t stop the bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good. For someone who has anxiety, this quote speaks volumes with me. But everyone has worry and too much worry is not good for anyone. Each time your mind goes into over thinking mode, quickly ask yourself ‘wait, what is this going to achieve? Other than stop me from enjoying the moment I’m in right now.’

8.  You can’t rush something you want to last forever. If you want to make a change, you can’t expect it to happen over night, it might take a month, a year or even more, but something that really helps me is to remember that the time will pass anyway. You might as well spend that time wisely and work towards your goals. After all, nothing worth having comes easy!

9. Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it. I can relate to this for personal reasons which is a whole other story. But its true that we must remind our selves we must eliminate the toxic things (or people!) from our life in order to feel happiness, and we must resist temptation to go back to those things no matter how strong the urge may be. Oh and for the record, you don’t ever have to feel guilty for removing toxic people out of your life.

10. Everything is going to be ok, if its not ok, its not the end. No matter how bad things may seem, how down you may be, it will pass. So if your going through a tough time remember that nothing is permanent, and things are gunna work out! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this post guys. Let me know if you’d like more stuff like this, i’m on my own personal journey to happiness and i would love to have you on board. Plus i find writing this kind of thing very thereputic. What are some of your favourite quotes to live by for this year?
